Are your sins forgiven?
1. WE HAVE ALL SINNED:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23
God’s Word tells us that we all have sinned. Everyone in the world (Including YOU) has disobeyed God, the Bible says “..There is none righteous, no, not one”! – Romans 3:10
2. THERE IS A PRICE FOR SIN:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
A wage is a payment. The payment of your sin is the second death in a place the Bible calls the Lake of Fire. “…and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” – Revelation 21:8
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27
3. JESUS PAID THAT PRICE FOR YOU:
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
God loves you so much that he gave his own Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins.
“…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:…”
– 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
4. WE MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS:
“…Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” – Acts 16:30-31
To believe on Jesus Christ as Saviour means to trust that He died and rose again to pay for your sins, and trust in Him as the only way to have sin forgiven.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
It’s only through Jesus that we can be saved.
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
5. NOW WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?:
After placing our faith in Jesus (whether that was now or you already have) we should next repent of our sins and be baptised into Christ by the authority of the Lord’s church.
“…Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” – Acts 2:37-38
It is a very important first step in our christian walk.
“Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.” – Ezekiel 18:21-22
“And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord…”
– Acts 10:48
Jesus said.
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” – John 14:15
Don’t put if off.
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6
“…as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” – Hebrews 4:7b
Ask God to reveal Himself to you.
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:” – Matthew 7:7
“….for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.” – John 8:24b
