Are your sins forgiven?
1. WE HAVE ALL SINNED:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23
God’s Word tells us that we all have sinned. Everyone in the world (Including YOU) has disobeyed God, the Bible says “..There is none righteous, no, not one”! – Romans 3:10
2. THERE IS A PRICE FOR SIN:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
A wage is a payment. The payment of your sin is the second death in a place the Bible calls the Lake of Fire. “…and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” – Revelation 21:8
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27
3. JESUS PAID THAT PRICE FOR YOU:
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
God loves you so much that he gave his own Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to pay for your sins.
“…how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:…”
– 1 Corinthians 15:3-5
4. WE MUST BELIEVE IN JESUS:
“…Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” – Acts 16:30-31
To believe on Jesus Christ as Saviour means to trust that He died and rose again for you, believe that He paid the price for your sin with His blood, and trust in Him as the only way to Heaven.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” – Romans 10:9
You could pray something like this:
(Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross and paid for my sin. I believe that you rose from the dead three days later. I am placing my faith in you alone to forgive my sin and save me. Thank you, in Jesus name, AMEN.)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
5. NOW WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?:
After placing our faith in Jesus we should repent of our sins and be baptised by a church that has the authority to do so.
“…Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” – Acts 2:37-38
It is a very important first step in our christian walk.
“And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord…” – Acts 10:48
Jesus said.
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” – John 14:15
